Ayush Mhatre Replaces Ruturaj Gaikwad in CSK Squad

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced Ayush Mhatre as the official replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has been ruled out for the remainder of IPL 2025 due to a hairline fracture in his elbow sustained during a match against Rajasthan Royals.

Ayush Mhatre, a talented 17-year-old right-handed batsman from Mumbai, made his domestic debut in the Irani Trophy in October 2024. Impressed by his potential, the CSK management invited him for a mid-season trial, where he showcased solid technique and temperament. Following his impressive stint, CSK signed him for ₹30 lakh as a replacement player.

Mhatre became the youngest batter to score 150+ runs in List A cricket, smashing 181 off 117 balls against Nagaland. He also made an impressive Ranji Trophy debut, scoring a composed 52 off 71 balls against Baroda.

This marks a significant opportunity for the young prodigy to shine on the biggest stage of Indian cricket, as he joins a CSK squad looking to turn their season around.

Smaran Ravichandran as Adam Zampa Replacement for IPL 2025

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have signed Smaran Ravichandran as a replacement for Adam Zampa, who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to injury.

Smaran Ravichandran was previously spotted training with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp ahead of IPL 2025. However, it is Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who have officially signed him as a replacement for the injured Adam Zampa.

Smaran Ravichandran, a 21-year-old left-handed batsman from Karnataka, has made a name for himself with consistent performances in domestic cricket. He made his domestic debut for Karnataka in October 2024 during a Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh.

Ravichandran impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 170 runs in six matches. He carried this form into the 2024/25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he amassed 433 runs in 10 matches, featuring two fifties and two centuries. His match-winning century in the final was instrumental in Karnataka lifting the trophy.

One of his standout performances came in a Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match against Punjab in January, where he scored a double century, leading Karnataka to an innings victory. He was named Player of the Match for that effort.

Smaran went unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction at a base price of ₹30 lakh. However, his hard work has paid off with this mid-season call-up by SRH.
