Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed South African batting sensation Dewald Brevis as a replacement for Gurjapneet Singh, who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to injury. The 21-year-old Brevis, known for his explosive batting and often dubbed “Baby AB,” brings exciting firepower to the CSK lineup.
Dewald Brevis, who previously played for Mumbai Indians from 2022 to 2024, made his mark in the IPL not just with the bat but also with the ball — notably dismissing Virat Kohli.

Gujarat Titans (GT) have officially signed Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka as a replacement for Glenn Phillips, who has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2025 due to injury.
Interestingly, Shanaka was previously seen training with the Delhi Capitals (DC) camp ahead of the season. However, it is GT who have now brought him in as a replacement, bolstering their squad with his experience and all-round capabilities.
Shanaka went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction despite setting a base price of ₹75 lakh.
