Mumbai Indians’ star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is likely to miss the first two weeks of the upcoming IPL 2025 season due to a lower back injury.
He has started his rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence but isn’t fully fit yet, with the primary goal being to regain fitness for the upcoming England Test series in England.
Big Setback for Mumbai Indians! Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is likely to miss the first few matches of IPL 2025 (as per reports) due to a back injury sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Bumrah was also ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
“Bumrah’s medical reports are okay. He has resumed bowling at the CoE. However, it is unlikely he’ll be able to bowl at the start of the IPL in another fortnight. As per current status, the first week of April looks a more realistic date for him to get back to high-intensity cricket,” – a BCCI source told TOI.
Jasprit Bumarh Return in IPL 2025
He is expected to join the Mumbai Indians camp on April 7 for their match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Mumbai, aiming for a return to action later in the tournament.
Mumbai Indians will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign with the much-anticipated El Clásico clash against Chennai Super Kings on March 23. Unfortunately, Jasprit Bumrah will not be available for this high-voltage encounter and is expected to miss the first few matches due to injury.
