#1 Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is unlikely to lead RCB in IPL 2025. While he was involved in discussions with the management during the leadership vacuum, he has reportedly indicated that he may not take up the role.
With this uncertainty, the RCB think tank has been in talks for weeks. Their auction strategy was seemingly built around Kohli, but with his decision unclear, the management is now exploring alternative options.

#2 Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar is likely to lead RCB in IPL 2025. The right-handed middle-order batsman has captaincy experience, having led Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket, guiding them to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final, where they narrowly lost to Mumbai.
Patidar had an outstanding IPL 2024 season, scoring 395 runs at a strike rate of 177.13. He first joined RCB in IPL 2021, playing four matches and scoring 71 runs. After going unsold in the IPL 2022 mega auction, he rejoined RCB as a replacement for the injured Luvnith Sisodia, who was initially bought for ₹20 lakh.
Patidar made a significant impact in IPL 2022, scoring 333 runs, including a memorable 112* in the Eliminator against LSG. The first century by an RCB player in IPL knockout history. Unfortunately, he missed IPL 2023 due to injury but made a strong comeback in 2024.
